1) NIGHT VISITOR 2) Hello, Death 3) Remember |
4) The Heavens Opened… |
It is night and I am afraid,
Then suddenly, out of the night he came.
No one made a sound as he walked by my side.
It's getting darker and darker as I climb into bed.
I know that he is still here, close to me.
I can feel his body close to mine,
Keeping me warm, and then I sleep,
But not for long.
I go to the balcony and watch the sky and the stars.
I hear the wind say, "Come with me."
He is still there by my side.
Slowly, I see the dawn creep over the trees,
and I hear him leave me.
I am sad.
I can still hear the sound of his paws on the stairs.
Death said to me, "Today."
I said, "Tomorrow."
Tomorrow came and Death said, "Yesterday."
Why didn't I tell you that I loved you today?
Tomorrow is too late,
and there is no yesterday.
Remember me when I am gone,
Gone far away to the silent land,
Where you can no longer take me by the hand,
and tell me of the things you had planned.
Only remember me- understand?
It will be too late to counsel or to pray.
Yet, if you should forget me for a while,
and afterwards remember,
Do not grieve.
Better by far you should forget me and smile,
Then that you should remember and be sad.
The heavens opened,
and spread the earth,
with white virgin snow.
Mommy and Daddy huffed and puffed.
OH- What a delight!
The wind howled,
to let every-one know-
The birth of Mary Kate.
The roads were closed,
and all the stores.
No one could go out.
Then came Monday,
Everyone knew,
Here comes Mary Kate!
The roads were opened,
and all the stores.
It's time to celebrate!
The sun peeped out,
To take a look,
At a pretty little girl.
Curly lashes, eyes of blue,
A little cupid's bow.
Tiny fingers, feet so long,
How I love her so.
The earth is alive,
and so am I!
I am now a Grand Ma Ma!
Turn your head and you will see,
a tear escape my eye.
I am thinking of the day,
My Mary Kate will say,
"I love you Grand Ma Ma!"
