I Will Not Be Watching (3/1/2022)

This evening, President Biden will deliver the State of the Union Address. The State of the Union Address is an annual message delivered by the president of the United States to the U.S. Congress near the beginning of each calendar year on the current condition of the nation. The address fulfills the requirement in Article II, Section 3, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution for the president to periodically give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union.

I will not be watching. It has pained me to see the man who is supposed to be the most powerful man in the world portray an image of weakness. The president is often seen wearing a mask which is a joke considering that he and those who are around him are constantly being tested for COVID. He even wears the mask when he is crossing an open field by himself to board an aircraft. When he is not wearing a mask, it is usually because he is trying to read from a teleprompter which seems to give him a great deal of difficulty. Without the aid of a teleprompter, he is unable to articulate his message. The few times that he holds news conferences he only takes questions from a selected few then ends the conference as he cravenly runs for cover. Many times, he displays cognizant difficulties.

Tonight, he will attempt to put a "happy face" on the myriad number of problems that did not face our nation before he took office. The economy is in the decline. Compared to last year inflation is up 8 percent. The producer price index is up 10 percent. Gasoline prices are soaring faster than a speeding bullet.

The president has shown little interest in the problems on our southern border. Arrests during President Trump's first year in office were 400,000. Arrests during Biden's first year in office rose to 1.9 million. More than 100,000 Americans died of drug overdose in 2021. This is the most in US history. Fentanyl seizures at the border are up 400 percent in 12 months because the southern border is open and Biden will not enforce US immigration law.

Under President Biden crime has skyrocketed. Homicides are up 44 percent compared to 2019. Many of out big cities broke murder records last year.

Foreign policy is also a disaster. Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons. North Korea has resumed testing missiles. China is looking at Taiwan and the Taliban rules Afghanistan. Currently, the most immediate crisis in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Because President Biden attacked the US fossil fuel industry, America was made weaker and other countries became more dependent on Putin's oil. He knocked out the Keystone pipeline and put regulations on fossil fuels in all 50 states while cutting back on American fuel production. That forced other countries including the Us to purchase oil from Putin. Presently, we get 7 percent of our oil from Russia.

So tonight, when the president tries to convince the nation on what a great job he has done ask yourselves if it is the American people he is trying to convince or himself? Isn't it conveint that the CDC has lifted the mask requirement the day of the State of the Union Address so Biden can tout how he has brought the COVID numbers down. This from the man who started his campaign by stating that "he is not going to shut down the country but shut down the virus." Then he preceded to shut down the country. Maybe Nancy Pelosi will tear up his speech at the end of the night. Meanwhile, I'll be watching reruns of Johnny Carson.
